Designer Houses!

I don't usually do too many pop-up cards using printed paper, but it this case, I think it really added an element of interest to thoses houses....

Pretty and Practical

I tried a pencil clasp for these so that the front design wasn't messed up from the normal wrap-around Velcro enclosure.

Finally Something New!

It's so hard to work on this stuff when the kids are home from school for snow!

The Basket Blitz...

has come to an end for now! Getting out the sewing machine makes such a mess of my dining room that I try and do as many projects as I can bear before cleaning it all up. This is unlike when I work on paper products - my desk gets cleaned up after each project.

Maryland's Largest Employer...

But if you asked any of the employees a few years ago about this place they might have joked that there was "no such agency". This piece is still a work in progress. Not for sale.

The Large Image Paper

These prints are all too large to be used in most of the pop-ups I make, and so I've turned them into simple folded note cards with matching envelopes. They'll be more coming - the large prints were really beginning to accumulate!

He's Blue!

Not the green I would have liked, but the blue worked better!

Dragon Unfolding...

So, it looks like it will wind up being a square card. The next version (hopefully) will be the final one. I've found some two-sided cardstock, which is a huge timesaver for me. Still have to work on the cover design.

The First Draft...

My current work in progress: at this point my little dragon functions properly. (The test is to try and fold him flat!) The next step is to refine his shape/design. I especially am not fond of his tail (too straight), his head (too small), and his wings should be one piece with his body. My favorite part is how he completely comes off the page. Initially he was supposed to come out of a box instead of a card, but I couldn't get it to not look silly. After all, he is supposed to look fearsome!

Once I get his design finalized, I will break out the more expensive paper for the final product. Look for a future post!

Mrs. C, I hope you feel better!

A revisit to my hug card for a long time family friend who's having a quadruple bypass today....
